    About Me: Hello!! *waves*
I am a single mother located in good ol' TN. I used to write all the time back when I was in school, nurtured by my wonderful English teachers, but as soon as I left school I kind of got derailed in all my teenage 'I have to find myself' drama. Then I had kids, then became a single mom, and started working jobs that I knew would pay my bills! Such a chicken, I know. Now I am still a single mom, still working that stable job, and trying to get into the game. I am thinking that my writing talent is still there, but I guess the time has come to test that out before you lovely people with the bright red pens! Please show no mercy - I am on a mission to become the next single mom success story!
What I Write: What do I write - hmmmm......

I write what my heart wants me to write. Yep! I am a sucker for a wonderful love story. I am also an avid history buff. So most of my fiction takes place in the factual settings of what has been. I have tried writing in the now, but find that more challenging in certain aspects. Getting into the whole paranormal buzz that has been going around. Its kind of fun to research, but it is frustrating as well since it is based on speculation and Lore. But I see it as a very fun challenge.

    So
    *History
    *Love
*and a bit of the strange

That is what I write...or at least try to
    Credits & Accomplishments: Absolutely NONE!!

This is my empty trophy box that I am devoted to filling up to the brim
Hobbies I am a bookstore addict - I have have tons and tons and tons of books on various subject and genres. Mostly history though.

I love astrology - so much fun!

I like to play in sandboxes - my son is always kicking me out! LOL!
Music: You name it - I listen to it.

Right now hooked on the Twilight Soundtrack. Gets the creative juices flowing - Don't ask me why...couldn't tell you. I think it is my jealousy.

    Sighs**
Favorite Movies: You had to open this can of worms! This will reveal the extent of my sappiness!

    PS I love you
    The Holiday
    Ever After

    Traveling unknown paths

Thursday, October 1, 2009, 02:55 PM CST [General]

Traditionally, I enjoy writing about romance. Will never wonder too far from that genre, but kind of leaning toward adding some paranormal sub-genres to my stories. Why? Please don't laugh, but I just finished reading the Twilight series and boy did that leave its mark! I haven't really read that many vampire romances, but that one takes the cake, in my opinion, of course. I truly believe she told a wonderful, and very long story...my turn!

So now my question is, should I venture into the world of vampires, werewolves, shapeshifters, demons, witches, or other fantastic creatures? Its like trying to pick out an outfit for your first blind date! hehe.

I am leaning toward either vampire or shapeshifter. Those I could get very into.

My next question: What are the best ways to go about building a world to house these fantastical creatures? Never really built a world before, always took what I read out of history books to create my settings for previous stories.

Ahhhh!!! What am I getting myself into?  Oh, but I cannot resist the challenge of maxing out my imagination beyond the boundaries of comfort and knowledge.

No worries, I am reading, reading, and reading books that are within the realm in which I am wanting to navigate. Still, the world building thing does make my nervous.

Off to hit the books. Hugs!

    Getting in the game!

Tuesday, September 29, 2009, 01:53 PM CST [General]

    Hello One and All!

I have joined this community in hopes to network with minds similar to mind, to get a tremendous amount of feedback for my writing skill, and to one day accomplish that beautiful dream of being published. Bestseller list one day? Maybe?

I have two wonderful children who keep me busy and give me every reason to procrastinate. My job as a manager is my second reason to procrastinate.  So, here I am doing everything I can to NOT give my self a reason to procrastinate and get my fingers to type the stories that I have trapped in my mind.
