Does anyone know of a reliable editer? I found Sandra E. Haven's site and a few others but is there a way to check to see if they're cons or not? E Drew |

Barbararogan@msn.com I found to be a good source. She had some specials going, one was $50.00 to edit 5000 words. I took advantage of that one and found her advice very helpful. I think if you can afford her she would be a good source. I took her advice to heart and ended up adding to my beginning. I made my charaters warmer and (not because of her advice) added a new ending. My novel is 180,000 words long so she obviously didn't edit much of it. I am much happier with my novel and I think it is a much better piece. I want to post a Query letter on this website but can't figure out how. I also want to post the first three chapters but again I can't figure out how. I though it was possible to post a general query letter (not addressed to a specific agent) on this website. Now I'm beginning to wonder. Good luck! I reccommend Barbara. If you find another, please let me know. Keith |

I'm in the same boat as you Erica - flailing about with a paddle and no editor! Good tip Keith, thanks. |

I'm an editor and would be happy to give you a rate quote. I keep telling myself that I'm going to focus on my writing this year, but I keep getting sucked back into the editing side of things. I just love helping a writer shape his/her story from something good to something great--and marketable! Feel free to check out my website (to ease any worries you may have about me being a con) and drop me a line if you're interested in talking further. www.redinkandquilling.com Best of luck finding a responsive and affordable editor for your work!
