On a related editing note, does anyone know of editing services for manuscripts? I've looked on search engines, but most seem a bit shady at best. Any experience with editors that may help point me in the right direction?
Any comments, anecdote or advise is welcome! |

I highly recommend Wayne Ude. Took an online writing class with him about 5 years ago, and hired him last year to read and give feedback on my completed novel manuscript. He's insightful and gentle with his critique. He also not only points out areas that may need additional work (i.e. plot, character development, etc.), but he gives workable suggestions for how you can go about fixing those areas. Very helpful. He is also good at identifying what is good or effective in your work. His rates are more than reasonable and well worth the investment. (His wife Marian Blue also does edits and critiques, and her focus is poetry.) They are based in Washington state. Learn more at his Web site: www.blueudewritersservices.com |

Hey, Leanna!
I'm new to the forum here and hate starting off with a shameless plug, but I'm an editor with experience in both fiction and nonfiction. My website is www.redinkandquilling.com if you're interested in learning more.
Good luck in your search! |

My friend Sandy Steen is quite thorough, reasonable in price, and in Plano. Send me a note to james@gaskin.com and I'll put you two together.
James
