I have some short stories that I feel are almost ready to submit to different publications. I happen to be freaking out over them though! I ask myself "Are these ready?" "Is the grammar good enough?" "Are there any typos here?" Does anyone have any advice on how to combat these thoughts? Or any other advice before I send anything off? I would appreciate any thoughts... |

I know that the best way to feel comfortable with your work is to set it down for a while (say, a month, or so) then come back to it after the break. It helps clear the mind of pent up anxiety, |

I could not agree more. I always set things aside for a while. Another thing I ask myself, since I would never send anything out if I didn't stop at some point, is, am I happy with this? Am I embarrassed for this to be read? In twenty years, will I regret this? When I can answer these questions, I know I'm done. |

Well, I always put stuff aside for awhile, but it's the very small errors that have me freaking out. I wouldn't want to like, type my name wrong or something, you know? |
