    NaNoWriMo 2008

Sunday, November 30, 2008, 03:51 PM EST [General]

As the clock ticks towards the end of this year's National Novel Writing Month Challenge (Sunday 11/30 at midnight), I finally completed the 50,000 words needed to be considered a winner.  Yahoooooooooo and congratulations to the other NaNoWriMo winners.

This year's writing challenge was completely different and more difficult for me then last years.  My story was based on personal connections with my son and it forced me to deal with many different emotions and self doubts.  Even through I struggle through out the month, the reward of finishing was gratifying because it proved that if I continued to write, I could finish.

The NaNoWriMo challenge was exactly what I needed to experience as a writer.  I knew I had to write even when the writing was difficult and touched placing in my spirit that I wanted to be left alone.

For those that struggle in your writing, never give up, because your writing will be better once you believe in yourself.  Write. Write. Write.
