After querying around 60 literary agents.. I still wait for most of them to respond. One agent had requested more of my manuscript. After some research i found that their average read time is at least two months.
I have received rejections from some, I knew I would. That really didn't bother me. No one as of yet has depicted my work as anything negative, only that they are either full with projects or, don't wish to represent at this time. It's all good though, because it has also been a learning process.
I submitted to another agency today who had an employee that is a member of Pitchtopia.org. She wanted me to consider a submission to their company. Their average time is 30-90 days.
I certainly hope something comes through. I'm left to wonder, is this normal that most take a very long time to review?
Keeping at it is the only thing i can do..meanwhile.. the second novel is still in the works..and i started a seperate novel (not vampire related)..that has kept me very intrigued.
At the end of the day, i still feel the satisfaction of knowing i have created something, and feel successful even without a "yes," as an immediate response.

You obviously don't need me to say this, but keep your chin up! One of the things you've got to remember is that publishers get hundreds of manuscripts a week. That they're coming to you to consider submitting to them is a good step, but far from a promise.
RBPierceI wish you luck!
