    No Break in the Break

Monday, October 19, 2009, 08:46 PM CST [General]

It's strange but true that I actually get a whole lot more writing done when I'm not on break.  I think it has to do with having kids home.  Or rather having very bored kids home.  No, I don't want to be the next entertainment sensation for my seven-year-old.  I really  love her. Honest.  But trying to keep her from bouncing like tigger is an act of sheer determination sometimes.  I guess that's when it's good that I'm so stubborn.  It means I win.  I typically don't get into battles with kids, but someone has to be the adult here.

So, suffice to say, I'm glad the work week is starting over.  Maybe I'll actually get some writing done....

Yep, here is another interesting site I ran across, and if you are a self-published author, this is a place you definitely want to visit.  I had quite a bit of fun once I realized what the book widget did, and I can tell you that it's a wonderful way to promote your books.  Yeah, I know that I say that about a lot of sites, but I promise you that once you see what this does and realize that it's FREE, you will definitely be visiting that site again.

I hear you on that. I've been going to Hulu, checking out the old one, and it is a pretty fun watch. Most fans take for granted that it was cutting edge for its time, and without it the new one never would have been.
Plus, anything with Jane Seymour automatically gets ten cool points in my book, lol.

Very well said! We all play a role in a better tomorrow. Some look past, some can n't look away. Thanks for being one of the later!

I appreciate your reply and am going to enter the contest. The person I most want to impress by winning is myself. My entry is actually a chapter of my novel reworked into a short story. I've been slogging away on the book for so long, and the social culture has changed so rapidly, that I'm concerned about the relevance of my theme. A victory certificate on my wall might convince me,"If they like the story, they'll like the book."
P.S. If I do win, it will be your fault.

    Maria,
I just found the original note. Hah it isn't lost in WM world after all. Maybe I'll get to start your trilogy... But honestly I wouldn't hold your breath, I'm still having trouble getting into book 5 of the series I've been reading for a few months.

    Writing and reading...

    Have a nice weekend.
