I am however an accomplished/published artist with a bit of a cult following (that I find strange and oddly amusing).
Hobbies Art, video gaming, horse back riding (pleasure these days but once upon a time hunter and dressage, theater and eating really good food.

Being a child of the 60s I was born and raised on The Guess Who, Steppen Wolf, Three Dog Night, The Who, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and the likes - still great music - never gets old.

Hello and all that "amg I am new here!!!" stuff...

Thursday, July 2, 2009, 09:09 PM PST [General]

Been snooping around this site for a while and finally decided to dive in and sign up for a year.  I kept debating the merits of signing up for a Writers Market without actually having anything written and decided why the hell not?  OK - I wrote 7 pages which are going in the trash so there is my justification...

I have written most of my life, well since I was old enough to draw letters and spell (kind of).  Writing and drawing were my escapes as a kid and I always knew one would end being my profession, in this case it was the visual art.  Through the years, I never lost the desire to write and lately the desire has grown stronger.

I've fantasized about being a published author, and while I would love to have a literary work of mine published, more importantly I want to write a novel for me.  In my little mental notebook where I keep my check list of things I want to do before I die, there is an empty box next to "Write a Novel" - that needs to be filled.

I have been tossing around a couple of ideas and actually had a false start, which amounted to writing 7 pages of a stroy I realized my heart was not into the story a character I had no connection to.  In my life I have found that everything happens for a reason - another character asked me what the hell I was doing wasting my time, and why wasn't I writing about her.

    So I shall.

Who knows - perhaps I will look for a publisher one day, for now I like the idea of having resources and a community of writers to help through the rough spots.  So yeah - here I am ;)
