In 2004, Michael Collins took Susan on as a mentoring student and coached her as she wrote her first novel. Presently, she lives in Washington State and writes full time. Wingate has written three novels. The ebook for her second novel, Bobby’s Diner (Write Words, Inc.) was released September 2008 and will be released in paperback in February 2009. An excerpt from her third novel, The Last Maharajan, was selected for publication in literary journal the Superstition Review, an ASU publication. She is a featured writer for the Arizona Author’s Association newsletter and a contributing writer for several other magazines. Since the 2007 publication of her mystery novel, Of the Law, Wingate is busy teaching & presenting at community colleges, at bookstores, and at writing conferences. Her short stories and poems consistently receive awards and her articles can be found in many magazines, journals and reviews. Wingate publishes a monthly online newsletter called, “Sincerely, Susan” that has a following of just under one thousand subscribers. She is a co-founder of the vibrant San Juan Island Creative Women's Group. Currently, she hosts a series of reading events at her local library, the San Juan Island Library. These events spotlight national, regional and local writers and provide a wonderful venue in which to hear great literary work. Wingate has created and maintained each of her websites and blogs for promotional purposes. She has also hired publicists to help market her work, she’s established contracts with book wholesalers and distributors, she’s contacted bookstores to carry her novels and she’s organized readings for her books. "Bobby's Diner" Makes it to a Number 5 Spot on Bestseller List!

Tuesday, October 21, 2008, 09:27 AM PST [General]

When I got the email from my publisher, Arline Chase, with Write Words, Inc. and she told me that "Bobby's Diner" had taken slot #5 on the bestseller list, well, I was stunned.

After telling the good news to my publicist for "Bobby's Diner" - Nikki Leigh - she found it and sent me the link. I clicked on it and a window opened up into a FictionWise webpage and, by golly, there it was slotted between a Charlotte Bronte novel and a Zane Grey novel. Wow.

I'm so thrilled about this I can barely put it into words. So, I think I'll just let it be and float a while on this wave of good fortune.

Thanks to all of those who have purchased the book and to those who have helped me along through these past few busy, busy months. My heart is full.
    -Sincerely, Susan
