How to Increase Traffic to Your Blog?

Tuesday, April 21, 2009, 07:27 PM EST [General]

Any ideas on how to increase traffic to your blog.

I have one blog, Living with CFS, that's got a pretty good following.  I get about 30-50 visitors a day, and it's grown steadily over several years.

But, I'm having trouble finding an audience for my two book blogs. Each of them only gets 3-4 visitors a day.

What are some ways to draw interested readers to a blog?

Thanks for any ideas you can offer -

Sue, this is what I find the social networking sites for. Once you collect "friends" or "followers" with the same interests (and there are a LOT Of writers out there), you can post links to your blogs. Also, if you're on any writers mailing lists, you can do the same thing.

    Hope this helps. :)

I just started a twitter account and a blog account this week. I don't know if you have a twitter account, but you set up an account, and tweet to the world in 140 characters or less what you are doing at the moment. I've found that there are several writers, agents, editors and publishers on twitter. You can follow what people are doing if you're interested in them. I have about 25 followers right now, so I sent them all an individual tweet saying, "Thanks for following me. Have you had a chance to check out my blog? yessicamaher.blogspot.com/" Not everyone has checked it out, but I have gotten a few views on it. More than I had before the notes went out, and I can only hope that if my writing is interesting enough, they'll subscribe or at least return.
