Today I'm going to print my recently re-written manuscript (hopefully for the last time) to give it another once-over, although, in reality, it should be called the ninth- or tenth-over. On my last re-write, I realized how long ago I started this thing when I discovered the main character had a different name in the first chapter. Jeez.

My story has a lot of characters. Most of them are present in only a couple of chapters, but since I don't write the story in a chapter sequence, I've really had names all across the board. |
I had the same problem with my MS, only I was in the 'final edit' mode and suddenly I hear a totally different voice for one of the main characters and realized that he was a completely different ethnic group, which put a new slant on the whole story. sigh... some days I wonder just how off the track my mind has gone.
