About This Group

The Writer's Edge is a forum to discuss craft, group instruction and share in peer reviews. We'll discuss everything from how to beat writer's block to crafting believable characters. We'll bounce ideas with each other, share writing instruction ideas, grow through writing exercises, and review each other's work and books that we've read. A forum where everyone is instructor and student.

I've used Power Writer which allows me to do an entire manuscript, including outlining and character definition. There's also Power Tracker a companion product that tracks submissions and expenses.

Hello everyone! Welcome to The Writer's Edge!

Writing is, by nature, a very lonely endevour. Certain aspects of it will always be since it is a very intimate thing to take words from your soul and place them on paper. Although, it doesn't have to be entirely solitary.

I've created this group to bring together writers of all levels to teach each other and learn from each other, to focus on the craft of writing from general mechanics to plot and structure and to discuss each others' work and the work of published authors.

I'm currently attending Boise State University where I am in my 4th year. My major focus is Creative and Technical writing. I've taken over forty writing classes from as many different instructors as I can to gain a diverse writing instruction. This doesn't make me a professional by any means, however it gives me a strong foundation of knowledge to share with a group. And I, of course, could always use some additional instruction from my peers; what better place to begin building that strong, quality network of writing peers than right here at Writer's Market?

Although i'm not really a fan of Walt Whitman, I am a fan of his premise, that writing is an intimate process between a writer and a reader where the author takes words directly from his/her own soul and places them directly into the mind of the reader.

There isn't a more wonderful reason to be a writer than that.

I hope you'll enjoy this group and that it will give you quality information to help you polish your work. And I hope that after every visit to the group you'll leave with a passionate desire to dash right for the key board or pen and paper and start writing.

    Thank you for joining.
