I've always like that time period myself and there is a lot to work with too. The politics of the monarchy and the catholic clergy alone can spark some interesting stories. I guess it just all depend on what you want to say and how you want to say it

    Writing Rituals

Do you have a special place?  Prefer to write by hand or computer?  Music/noise or silence?

This has been challenging for me, figuring out my process and fitting that into my life.  I have five children, one still at home (although next year she'll be in kindergarten--can you here the angels singing?)  So what is best for me, is not necessarily what I can do.

Music helps not really to write, but as an inspiration.  My characters or stories often have theme music.   I prefer to write by hand, even though the computer is much easier.  I trained myself to write on the computer, while my daughter watched noggin, but then went back to writing by hand.

One of my challenges has been accepting that even if I only get a paragraph done, that's progress.   I also need a lot of time to think, and process.  With five kids at home quiet does not come easy.

I'd like to hear about your rituals if you're willing to share.
